Summery of todays session

Posted in Uncategorized by Charlie on April 8, 2009

In summery;

We asked ourselves why we are investigating innovation and what does it mean to us. We mentioned that everything we do is aimed at innovating and how are we meant to do this if we do not fully understand what it actually means.

We questioned our own perceptions of innovation and what it means to innovate by weighing up the costs of innovating for example, depression, anxiety, stress. But we didn’t forget the benefits of course.

We relate innovation with success, in other words – your not successful if you don’t innovate. Well, you may be successful in the profession you are in but not regarded as a leader of that profession if you do not innovate.

People who are innovate generally are remembered and recognized as successful. Therefore, are we striving to innovate for recognition over anything else, to be remembered and respected. This applies to all disciplines.

We mentioned that we should use this time to investigate and reflect on the findings we make by relating them to ourselves and others alike. What will we discover, how will it change our ethics, mindset and goals. How do we supply our audience with the message of think twice about what you are trying to do, because that is what we are effectively doing – thinking twice, judging and evaluating what we aim to achieve as designers. But we also said we want to be able to apply our production to the general population who’s main goals are, at the end of the day to innovate.

Please edit this, its a bit rough and I don’t have the notes.
